our mission

We create safe, just, and equitable communities through advocacy, education, and empowerment of anyone affected by domestic and sexual violence, stalking, child abuse, and human trafficking.
This mission is accomplished by the Coalition, which includes 12 independent community-based member programs, a Board of Directors and a central staff working together to:
  • Influence public policy on the local, state and national levels;
  • Ensure that quality services are provided to victims;
  • Promote the accountability of societal systems and communities for their responses to sexual violence, domestic violence and stalking;
  • Prevent violence and abuse before they occur.

Public policy

We collaborate with other advocacy groups, victims, and legislators to draft legislation and advocate for policy changes to advance victims’ rights and protections at both the state and federal levels.

Prevention education

​We work with youth, educators, and communities to prevent violence before it happens by identifying and sharing best practices, and designing and implementing statewide educational campaigns.​

Awareness & outreach

We raise awareness about interpersonal violence by fostering relationships with local, statewide, and national media, working closely with community partners, and implementing statewide awareness campaigns.​

sexual assault nurse examiner (sane) program

​The goal of the SANE Program is to minimize the physical and psychological trauma to the victim and to maximize the probability of collecting and preserving the physical evidence of an assault for potential use in the legal system.

Technical Assistance

We coordinate the NH Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program, the AmeriCorps Victim Assistance Program (AVAP), the Family Violence Prevention Specialist (FVPS) Program, and provide technical assistance to NH’s 12 crisis centers to ensure quality care for survivors.
  • The Family Violence Prevention Specialist Program (FVPS) Program is a collaborative program with the NH Division for Children, Youth and Families that places crisis center advocates in health and human services offices throughout New Hampshire. Specially trained advocates support clients who are experiencing domestic violence and provide training to child protection staff and other DHHS divisions.
  • All survivors of domestic violence should have access to advocacy service in an environment that is inclusive, welcoming, destigmatizing, and non-re-traumatizing. By providing training and technical assistance work to create trauma-informed programs, organizations, systems, and communities throughout NH that help survivors to deal with the multiple complex issues that they face
